Google launches multiple cult characters
The 14 characters chosen are drawn from Japanese culture, whether manga, anime or video games, which are all cult entertainment.
As a result, the proposed characters are as follows:
- Pac-Man
- Hello Kitty
- Pompompurin
- Small twin stars
- Ultraman
- Ultraman Zero
- Gomorrah
- Evangeline
- Gundam
- Gogumyum
- Taiko Master
- …
The best known of all will be Hello Kitty and Pac-Man. Pac-Man is considered by Google to be the most searched. This way you can include these augmented reality characters on the real elements around you.
Once these characters are in 3D, each one will have its own particularity, they will speak in a unique way or will emit a sound corresponding to them. This will make the 3D visualisation more dynamic.
How do you use it?
To discover this new functionality, you have two choices.
- If you have an iPhone running iOS: you need at least the Ios 11 update, then search for one of the 14 characters' names in the Google application. Once you've done your search, you'll see the words "View in 3D" and then "View at home". Tadaaaam! Now you're ready to imagine your best scenarios to bring these characters to life in a unique way.
- If you have an Android, you must have at least the Android 7 update. Then the process will be the same: search for a name of the 14 characters in the Google application. Once the search is done, a mention "See in 3D" appears then "Visualize at home" & Tadaaaam! Now you're ready to imagine your best scenarios to bring these characters to life in a unique way 🚀 Be careful though, only Android devices capable of supporting ARCore will be able to use this feature in AR.
Finally, if you wish, you can record a fun video to share on your social networks.
